Cerro Murallon: a fortress of ice and rock in the middle of the Hielo Continental, one of the wildest and most austere places in Patagonia and therefore also in the whole world. Citing the famous American mountaineer Micke Libecki, there are three rules for an expedition: "you go with friends, you go with friends, you go with friends".
When you go with friends, together you can face even the most critical situations and totally enjoy what you’re doing. This expedition that led me, Matteo Bernasconi and David Bacci to open a new mixed route on the unclimbed East face of Cerro Murallon was a real journey into the unknown, where fear was a faithful travel companion and adviser in many decisions.
